A little bit of interesting facts on Windermere
At the heart of the Lake District and just a mile away from the lake of the same name, the Lakeland town of Windermere offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and nearby fells. Windermere is a centre for watersports and climbing enthusiasts, but for the less adventurous visitor it also offers a multitude of charming shops, pubs and restaurants to relax away the day. At 10 and a half miles long and half a mile broad at its widest point, Windermere is England's largest lake.
